BURLINGTON
July 3rd, 5:30PM-11:00PM
Start the afternoon of July 3rd either at Perkins Pier for delightful band performances, great entertainment, and stilt walkers or at the Waterfront Park for mimes, jugglers, Afro-Brazilian drummers, and other family shows. Kids would definitely have a blast at the Waterfront Festival Site with the variety of things to do such as face painting, rides, and bounce houses!
At night, head over to the Boathouse for other live performances and the Dan Marcotte Airshow and at 9:30PM, make sure you are near the Burlington Harbor to enjoy the bigger and better fireworks display by Atlas Pyrovision Productions. If you can't be in Burlington for the live fireworks display, just tune in to ABC22 as they broadcast the July 3rd Fireworks for the very first time!
COLCHESTERColchester will start off the Independence Day celebration this year with a Fun Run at UMS in the morning. It will be followed by a parade at the village before noon. The party starts at 6:30PM and the fireworks display will be at dusk at Bayside Beach.
WILLISTON
The 4th of July is said to be one of Williston's favorite holidays! Therefore, the city is celebrating it with three days of community-based events which will start later tonight with a Family Bike Ride and Blade Races at 6:00PM.
Tomorrow, July 3rd, there will be the Firecracker 5K Fun Run at the Williston Community Park Field House. There is also a book sale at the library and an Ice Cream Social at the Village Green where the town band will perform a special musical program.
On the 4th of July, you can checkout Williston's Independence Day parade in the morning. This will be followed by several activities around town such as the Fire Department Open House, arts and crafts show at WCS Front Lobby, and a Frog Jumping Contest behind WCS, just to name a few. There will be a musical entertainment at Allen Brook School at night. The fireworks display will start at around 9:30PM at Allen Brook School.
ESSEX/ESSEX JUNCTION
The Annual 4th of July Celebration presented by Essex Automotive and Star 92.9 will take place at Maple Street Park on July 4th, starting at 6PM. Several festivities such as music, an obstacle course, face painting, balloon sculptures, circus illusion acts, and more can be enjoyed by residents.
Since the Maple Street Bike Park will be holding its grand opening on the same night, the park and a bike jam will be opened to the public after the celebration. Local non-profit organizations will be selling food together with the Essex Junction Little League and the Essex High School Band Boosters.
The EJRP (Essex Junction Recreation and Parks) is going green this year as they encourage attendees to walk or bike to the park for the event. And to really drive this advocacy, limited parking will be available for those traveling by car.
