Thursday Night Live at the Dallas Museum of Art (DMA) will feature the Roger Boykin Trio, for Jazz in the Atrium. If your Fourth of July guests are still in town, this is a great opportunity to acquaint them with the DMA and enjoy a casual dinner at the Cafe, while listening to Jazz in the Atrium.

Thursday Night Live will have extended hours from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. The event is included in your Museum Admission.

Nasher Sculpture Center

Nasher Sculpture CenterSaturday, July 7, Target will sponsor First Saturdays at the Nasher Sculpture Center from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event is designed for young guests. Last month my 10 and 12 year old nephews enjoyed the Scavenger Hunt in the Sculpture Garden. The kids must locate required sculptures in the garden and record specific information about the sculptures on a Scavenger Hunt Card.  Other activities will include a sculpture demonstration, kids art activity, story time and yoga.  The Nasher Cafe will have kids meals on the menu.  There are generally food trucks in the parking lot to the east of the Nasher Sculpture Center and picnic tables, if you prefer an outdoor snack.

Good morning Sharon -

Sounds like this week in the Dallas Arts District is certainly going to offer plenty to do!  Jazz at the Atrium sounds relaxing.  Hope you get to enjoy either Thursday or Saturday's event's.  Heck why not check out both!

The Jazz trio sounds like so much fun - and we know a few youngsters who would get a kick out of the Scavenger Hunt. It is always interesting to see what different cities have to offer! Thanks for sharing.

Sharon~I love the interactive idea of a scavenger hunt and education (all under the guise of having fun)! Very creative and to me, it's of the utmost of importance that art be introduced to kids early on.
