Free Fishing on the Fourth in North Carolina
I saw this post and decided to reblog it as I have friends in North Carolina and I know they used to go fishing all the time but with kids etc may not be able to now. I figured if they see this maybe they can take their kids out and try them on fishing! Great Post!
thanks,
eric
Free Fishing on the Fourth in North Carolina
On July 4th, 2012, in the Great State of North Carolina, you can get bitten with the Fishing Bug for free! Residents and non-residents of North Carolina are invited to give fishing a try for 24 hours.... No license required!
Once you get "hooked", you will then need to purchase your recreational fishing license through the NC Division of Marine Fisheries ($15 per year). If you live in Carteret County, North Carolina, there are several locations to purchase your license, or you can apply online too! Fishing can be very relaxing and a lot of fun, but make sure you know the size and bag limits for North Carolina before taking your catch home for dinner.
Do you want to use your free day for "surf fishing", or maybe you have a boat or a dock to fish from? Of course, you will need a fishing rod and a little bit of tackle, but the nice guys over at Southland Outfitters in Atlantic Station can hook you up with everything you need and they are always willing to take the time to show you the ropes lines too.
Then the tough part..... Where to fish on the Crystal Coast? Tough, not because there is no where to fish, but because there are so many choices of wonderful "spots"!
Now..... Have fun, good luck and maybe I'll see you on the docks.... with a Fish On!
