Turning A FISBO Into A Deal
I listed a home about a month ago to someone who I thought was a serious seller. He was an attorney who had approached me about listing his home and we proceeded to list it and I worked diligently throughout the holidays to get him a good buyer. Another agent from another company brought a really nice couple who had sold their home and was very interested in the property even though it needed a substantial amount of work ( new kitchen, new baths and basement to be finished). They made a very reasonable offer only to have him reject it and counter with an offer that anyone else would have walked away from. These buyers obviously liked this block and didn't care about the fact that they knew they were probably overpaying by about $20,000 and even scheduled a home inspection right away. Well the day after he accepted their offer he called and said he changed his mind and didn't want to sell the house. I had been working on getting a listing from a FISBO in the same area. I called them and told them about the couple and tomorrow I am taking them and their agent to see this house with a one time to show deal I arranged with the homeowner. I hope I can put a deal together and find the buyer a good home in the area they are interested in.
