The Way to Properly Fold the United States Flag

In celebration of Independence Day, many people may be displaying the United States Flag.  Please see the proper way to fold the flag as taken from usflag.orgFolded U.S. Flag

1.    Two persons, facing each other, hold the flag waist high and parallel to the surface of the ground between them.

2.    The lower striped section is folded, lengthwise, over the blue field of stars. Hold the bottom (folded) edge and the top (open) edge together securely.

3.    Fold the flag again, lengthwise, folded edge to open edge.

4.    A triangular fold is started along the length of the flag, from the end to the heading by bringing the striped corner of the folded edge to meet the open edge.

5.    The outer point is turned inward, parallel with the open edge, forming a second triangle.

6.    Repeat the triangular folding until the entire length of the flag is folded.

7.    When the flag is completely folded only the triangular blue field should be visible.

Thank you for your post.  So many people mistreat the flag, so thank you for showing the proper way of folding it up.  HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!!

I seen this done, but I didn't remember how to do it.  This is very timely for the July 4th holiday.  Hope you had a great July 4th!

an honor guard folded a flag recently for my navy son and it was a powerful ceremony and will forever be in my mind.

Hi everyone, I hope this post will help people. The flag is a solemn symbol and needs to be treated with respect.
