The community is well laid out and lends itself to a time when neighbors actually enjoyed visiting each other and watching out for one another. Typical homes in the community are 2 or 3 bedrooms.
Velda Rose – Mesa AZ has a home owners association (HOA) called Velda Rose Estates and it maintains the common areas and community recreation facilities. The HOA dues run approximately $150 per person per year. This is a small expense for the benefits and appearance of such a nice 55+ community. Many of the homeowners living in Velda Rose – Mesa AZ get to know others in the community as they meet at the community clubhouse/recreation center and community pool. Since this is an older smaller development compared to some of the newer planned communities the resources are sufficient but limited. Many of the residence of Velda Rose live in Arizona on a part time bases, what we call snow-birds. During the cooler months residence find many local activities like golf, theaters, movies, shopping and even a daytrip or two.
Local Activities
There is much to do that is close by. Farnsworth Hall is just outside of the Velda Rose – Mesa AZ community where activities like arts & craft shows, pot luck dinners, dances and various types of other entertainment programs like musical groups, concerts, and plays. There are many restaurants within just minutes, a Banner Baywood Hospital, Broadway Palm Dinner Theater, Superstition Springs Mall, Costco and several golf courses. If a day trip is an option a dinner cruise on the Dolly Steam Boat is a great time and peaceful trip on Canyon Lake.
