Buyers - Hire an Inspector

By

I try to encourage home inspections to both sellers and buyers.  If presented correctly both parties will see the value in having this inspection completed.  For the buyers ask them if they would purchases a second hand car without a test drive.  Most will say No.  Buying a home without knowing if the components are all functioning the way they are should would also be a big mistake.  I tell them it is their right and responsibility to have a home inspected.  They get a full report of the home and how the inspector views each facet for functionality.  If for no other reason then to make them feel they are getting a good deal on the home and what items they will want to watch for future repairs, most red flags would be picked up by a professional home inspector and it could save them a lot of money in the end.

I couldn't agree more.  We can see some physical defects, but a thorough home inspection by a licensed inspector will show us things that we can't see.  Good post!

Good morning Diane - a home inspection is critical - so much so that most attorneys here in NJ will insist upon one!
