My Client Is "Uncomfortable"

Get ready for a laugh.

Asked my short sale client to send me the usual. 90 days bank statements, pay stubs, personal financial, balance sheet, etc.

He says to me "Why do we have to give them all that stuff?"

I said "Look at it as an update of the information you provided with your loan application." I really wanted to say they would like to have justification for making a second decision to remedy the first stupid decision to loan you money in the first place.

He says "We didn't have to do that."

I said "Based on the date of your closing you did. Maybe you don't remember."

He says "We would never do that. It makes us feel UNCOMFORTABLE."

I said "The lender feels a little UNCOMFORTABLE writing off $40,000 of the loan value."

He says "I don't care. We won't do it."

I said "Fine, I'll send you a contract cancellation, pick up my sign, and tell the bank to proceed with foreclosure."

He says "Fine."

The next day I got an email saying they would send the information.

How do these people keep finding me???

To funny Ron. I have one that doesnt want the house to sell "yet". They're banking on getting it sold "just in time". Sometimes you just get found, lol  Sometimes its awesome, sometimes, not so much. Roll with the punches I say!

you warned us to get ready for a laugh... love this: "...decision to remedy the first stupid decision to loan you money in the first place."

probably a good thing you held back on that, but *sometimes* it would feel so good to give people the reply they "deserve" :)
