East Fork Happy Shed

Real Estate Broker/Owner with MoonDancer Realty, Dillsboro,NC NC# 218097

A few days ago while I was headed out East Fork to pick up some signs and a lockbox, I passed a familiar scene that I’d never stopped to photograph before…the Happy Shed of East Fork. Nope, springtime and temperatures in the 60s would have been too easy. Give me the high 90s, bees, ticks and snakes any old day! Of course, for those people considering a move to the mountains of Western North Carolina our “mountain breezes” actually make for a very cool high 90s and we are legendary for our friendly and well-mannered bees, ticks and snakes.

East Fork Road is about 6 miles south of Dillsboro and 10 miles north of Franklin. There are bits and pieces of creativity like this all along the road. In fact, there are a lot of communities in Jackson County, NC that it is apparent the neighbors have talent and a sense of humor.

Call me if living in a community in Jackson County sounds like a good idea to you. One of my favorite things about being a REALTOR here has been to become familiar with the nooks and crannies of our county…like this one, near the Happy Shed of East Fork!

Hi Mona,

Looks like the home owners creativity has been blooming along with the spring and summer flowers in your area.

Nice of you to share what we normally would not get to see.

Maybe it will inspire others to do the same.

Have a great day in the mountains of North Carolina.

Best, Clint McKie

Does happy shed have a well inside?  I have big rock covering my well.  Friend of mine found a non well mannered snake this morning... on his birdfeeder.

I love it when people have a sense of humor. This is so cute! It would just make me smile everytime I passed it. The snakes, on the other hand, would make me scream and run the other way.

Jill, no you haven't...I've got a million of them!  lol

Tammy, I love that you use that photo...I smile every time I see it.  I saw the well on a different part of the property.  I think that shed might be used for potting.  Non well mannered snake?  That's scary.

Jill, I thought you were an animal lover, ha ha.

Hi Mona, That was interesting and as you say, many of the neighbors have a sense a humor. This one certainly does. I had never thought of putting a smiley face on a shed but I still have a sense of humor, LOL.

William, guess you'd have to have one of those big saw things.

You do such a good job of making it look so idyllic and welcoming.  It's the humidity that I don't miss :)

Mimi, it has been humid...but it's a dry kind of humidity...lol.  Funny though, when my parents lived in Vegas and I'd visit...I'd miss the humidity.
