Enjoying Riverdale Park

The Fourth of July Holiday is one of my favorites. We spent this year in Riverdale Park located on 4300 South Parker Drive in Riverdale. The parThe Kitty and The Flag Hangin Around at the Parkk in Riverdale has large mature trees all over shading most of the grassy area and keeping the sun in check. There are multiple jungle gyms ranging in general age for the kiddos so the big kids don't get too crazy around the little ones and the little ones don't trip or hold up lines for sliding for the big kids. There's also a splash pad for everyone to enjoy. People spent the day taking breaks in the water to cool off with a little fun in the sprinklers. The bathrooms are tidy with plenty of stalls so there isn't much of a wait. Parking can be a bit busy but usually only on the holidays. There were all kinds of games, prizes and booths set up but one thing missing was the bouncy areas that they had the year before. The food was only okay but our cooler full of snacks and drinks remedied that for our party. The kids love the animal carvings from tree stumps and have even named it "The Bear Park".

The fireworks this year were AMAZING,! There were pavillions with entertainment and music throughout the day and then during the fireworks they played some of the classic America Loving songs! The patriotic crowd was definately impressed as the booming shook the ground. The bright and beautiful fireworks lit the sky and it often seemed they planned each explosion to the song that was blaring through the crowd. It's so wonderful that complete strangers can come together laying on blankets on the ground to show support for Our Country!
