Relocating to DFW Texas “We Weren’t Born Here But We Got Here As Fast As We Could”
Moving your service for your dish provider is pretty simple. Make sure you call them a week or two prior to your move to set up your change of service date. They will send out a technician to install the new dish and get everything up and running again.
One thing that I wish someone had told me when we relocated was that all your favorite shows that you have set up to record WILL be different when you relocate here to the DFW. Those recorded channels and times will not be the same ones and you will need to change your options for each show and find what channels they are now on for this area and your dish provider. We didn’t discover this for nearly 2 weeks and were curious why our shows hadn’t been recording. I searched for some of our favorite shows that we knew were still in season and realized that we had them recorded for California dates, times, and channels!
We eventually canceled our dish service and have a Roku now. It’s a small box that streams shows and movies through our internet service. We get our TV now from Hulu and Netflix, and there are a few other channels like Crackle where you can see older movies and Pandora where you can stream music. It’s pretty neat and is much cheaper than having dish service. It doesn’t provide everything though, and I really miss my Food Network and Bravo but you know what, we all don’t really need to be watching that much TV anyways. Life is about experiencing, especially when you have a young child, not just watching.
Hope that this helps to make your relocation here a little easier. Before looking for homes, let me set you up on the MLS search so you are getting the exact properties you are looking for. If you have any questions regarding moving here to the Mid-Cities DFW area (Colleyville, Grapevine, Hurst, Keller, North Richland Hills and Southlake) call me or email me!
Take care,
Amy
