One of the many things I love about summer in my hometown of Stamford Connecticut, is the opportunities to buy fresh fruit, baked goods and flowers from the farmer's markets spread throughout town during the week....
Here's some shopping excursions for you to consider:
Wednesdays: 10:00am - 4:00pm You can stop by the High Ridge Road Farmer's Market at the High Ridge Shopping Center, just south of the Merritt Parkway.
Whether it's corn, strawberries, greens, baked goods, flowers....this is not to be missed!
Fridays: 10:00am - 2:00pm, stop by for shopping of the freshest produce and flowers at the Stamford Museum and Nature Center.
After shopping you can visit the farm animals and have a slice of pizza by the pond. What a relaxing time!
Plus there is just so much to do..if you have small children, stop by and visit the otters, chickens, llamas. What farm would be complete without the pigs, cows and Beaky - the animal of the month. She is a Guinea Fowl and very popular as she runs throughout the farm.

Saturdays: until November 3 from 9:00am - 3:00pm on Bedford Street (at Forest Street). Park in the Municipal Parking Garage or on Broad Street for the French Market of Bedford Street.
