False Advertising in Boise. And I am sure this goes on all over and I JUST DON'T understand how either the Real Estate commissions or the NAR and local Real Estate associations allow it.
For the last few weeks there is a Realtor in a major branded company running ads on the radio. It is a very cocky ad saying that HE sells Thousands, yes Thousands of homes a year and MOST OTHER REALTORS SELL 2 OR 3 AND PICK UP A BUYER ALONG THE WAY!
According to the MLS he has sold THREE! Not three this year, three EVER! Not only is he obviously lying about his sales but he is disparaging other Realtors. Both are aganst our code of ethics. I would think that it is illegal false advertising. Why does his Broker let him get away with it let alone NAR and the Idaho State Real Estate commission.
I have noted several similar things. Radio ads, and paid for radio shows on Saturday where they sound like hot shots and just plain lie!
My advise to all consumers is they ask for proof of such outlandish claims. We all know it is very easy to go to the MLS and see what people have sold. Consumers should ask Realtors to show them what they have sold and how many they have listed and how many exired and canceled listings they have.
Do you think we should be reporting these people? I hate to be a snitch, but this is ridiculous and dishonest. It is a blight to all honest agents.
