Special offer

The Relocation Company may be in the way...

Anyone who has dealt with a relocation company knows that you will see their addendum. This essentially releases them from all issues known or unknown to mankind. I get it, too. They are just facilitating a sale. But in this case they may be in the way.

I put a home on the market about 2 weeks ago for a wonderful couple who have been terrific to work with. The home is in great shape and we are asking top dollar for the neighborhood. We received a near list price offer the other day and I proudly submitted it to the relo company. They came back shortly thereafter and asked if the buyer would strike out the due diligence part of the offer. I explained that this is the heart and soul of the offer for a buyer, and it was only for 7 days. Nevertheless, the relo company wants it removed.

The buyers agent says she doesn't think the buyers will go for that. Honestly, if they were my buyers I would tell them to run not walk from this deal. I will be on the phone this morning with the company trying to find a compromise that everyone can live with. Otherwise, these really good deal for my sellers will disappear. Bummer

And on a side note...ActiveRain? Are you listening? If my posts disappear again after I hit the post button and I am forced to re-write a post, I am going to be very unhappy. Please get this bug fixed!!

Peter, great update on yet another "rule" attitude. This is a new one for me as is your experience with an Activerain bug. Your post is important on two counts. Suggested!

I have yet to see a relocation company who does ANYTHING to facilitate a sale.  They are always a source of interference and complication in transactions.
