How many emails a day do we all get with the latest scam or outrageous news article? Why can't people do just a little checking before commenting and spreading it on to the next unsuspecting person. Remember Facebook is going to start charging tomorrow and similar emails or posts. It only takes a moment to do a little basic fact checking. There are at least 4 or 5 decent search engines out there today that can return a whole host of information.
Just yesterday the posts all day on Facebook were about a preacher in Phoenix being jailed for having a Bible study in his home. It was all over the place yesterday. Even Mike Huckabee and Fox News (and I like both Mike and Fox byt the way) had stories going yesterday that I saw. All wrong on what appear to be the actual facts that only took a cursory check on a search engine to find. There was no problem with him having Bible studies in his home. There are code violations on the building he built on his property that he is using for services. According to at least 1 article he hasn't paid taxes on the place since 2008 when the property was classified as a church. If you have a commercial building, which a church is (like it or not) then you have to build it to code. A true "pastor" that cared for his flock would care for their safety which is what building codes are all about.
There appears to be a lot more to this one story but it's just a recent example. There's enough bad stuff happening out there already without us needing to manufacture more.
