What a marvelous experience I had yesterday. I had a private tour of KTEC, our new technical school being built out in Rathdrum. Mark Cotner was very gracious and showed us all the new buildings and talked about their purpose and how the students would be using the space as they are being taught skills that will enable them to support themselves and build careers.
KTEC has had so many applicants that a second shift has been added and they still are having to put students on a waiting list in most areas.
Local businesses have been donating equipment, trucks and trailers and many of the smaller items for use in the training.
The facility has gone green where they can and you can’t help but notice how they have managed to use as much natural light as possible.
This school is a much needed addition for our local businesses as many of our business are have trouble filling skilled labor openings.
