Sellers

You've heard all the bad press. The metropolitan Portland market is not as hot as the previous few years. So why sell now? Some sellers need to sell, they maybe transferred or a personal situation may necessitate a sale. Properties priced fairly in good condition, continue to sell in a timely manner. If you find yourself in a selling situation, homes are still selling and in a timely manner.

Should I wait or sell now?

I always say to clients, I don't have a crystal ball. We don't know if interest rates will remain low or what will happen in the coming market.  Some sellers may choose to wait and sell later. Others may go ahead, sell and put their profits in other investments. This depends on your long term financial goals and the importance of home ownership in your life style.  Seller's who place importance on home ownership, may take this opportunity to sell now and repurchase.

More purchasing power?

Sellers selling now, may find that they have more purchasing power. With the current inventory today's seller as a buyer will have more selection and the advantage of purchasing a home while interest rates while interest rates are still low. As of today interest rates are approximately 5.50% to 5.75% allowing you extra buying power. Many sellers may want to take advantage of high inventory and low interest rates and sell and purchase now.
