THE WORM HAS TURNED, in the housing market.

Please forgive me.  I was actually using a worm as a metaphor to describe what’s been happening in our market to “grab your attention.” Did it work?

As we all know, the real estate market pretty much “peaked” in 2005…then started to spiral downward for the next 6-7 years.  Most markets lost 30%-35% of their value. Some areas were hit even harder.

Well…that’s all beginning to change. Recently I received an email from Sun City Shadow Hills, a large Senior Development in Indio, just east of Palm Desert, telling me they would be RAISING PRICES, as other builders are starting to do. Why? Because their inventory of homes are selling at a very brisk pace.

I work a lot with buyers …..and this past year I have been noticing a sharp decline in inventory. My clients are asking “where are all the homes for sale?  I want to see more.” Developments that once had over 10% of their homes on the market, now have less than 5% for sale.

Warren Buffet says “Buy now!”

If you haven’t figured it out yet, you’ll  be missing out on a great opportunity and be left behind while others are enjoying some of the lowest interest rates this country has ever seen, and prices that are extremely attractive! This is definitely NOT a time to procrastinate. It’s a time to ACT!

This past week the headlines stated that Consumer Confidence was also up….the highest it’s been since 2007! As a Realtor, I receive reports each week on everything from our economy, to what’s happening in the real estate market….and guess what…..it’s all pointing UPWARD.

Perhaps it’s time to start INVESTING in YOUR TOMORROW…………………..Today!

It is so great to hear good news instead of bad news. It seems that for so long it was bad. Our market in this area is up a good bit from last year.  Hope it will continue.

Well said...I actually think the bottom-bottom of the market fell between Oct 2010 and Oct 2011, and savvy investor buyers were already acting at that point.   It's almost too late, in entry level residential, for the buyer to "get the deal".

Thanks for your comments. Let's hope the years ahead show prices continually rising and interest rates staying attractive. Let's hope the Canadian dollar remains strong as well.
