Another way here

For the past several years I have been enticing you to the Valley of the Great Salt Lake, as a great place to visit, a wonderful place to consider as your family home.

We have our Highways, north to south, east to west. We live in second easiest State for a school kid to draw, and on all maps the name of the State fits within the State borders. Beauty abounds - our Parks and our Mountains invite.

south valley regional airport

Now I am offering you another way here - fly yourself in.

Our daughter does. She is a flight instructor out of Oceanside CA. When she visits, she uses South Valley Regional, just like dropping in.

Over a mile of 100 ft wide asphalt surface basically north-south,in great condition, about 7 miles south of Salt Lake City International. No landing fees. (It is a Public Airport, and non-taxpayer funded). South Valley Regional has looked after business, leisure, training and Military flying for fixed and rotary wing since 1942. It hosts a unit of the Air National Guard.

And for you shoppers _ Jordan Landing is near by.

Come in Summer, come in Winter, come anytime. You're welcome

Larry, will you knock off praising the area, we have enough people here. It is messing things up, the farm I was born on in Murray is now full of houses, the creek I learned to swim in in bordered by homes and looks like an irrigation canal now, and those strawberry fields in Sandy are now all gone, darn it, they were great strawberries. Well now at least the kids aren't sent to harvest sugar beets and the schools closed so they could do it like when I was a kid.

Charles - great when kids excel.

Jeffrey - I learn a lot about this country by reading localism posts.

Michael  - I got used to flying on OZ as a means of combating "the Tyranny of Distance"

Anthony - 1. OK to mention NZ (occasionally)

                2. I have seen both Bonneville and Lake Eyre (Australia), both remarkable (and similar) surfaces for land speed attempts.

Michael - I like driving too. So much to see in this country.

Chris and Dick - you got me in one. May be a way to start a modern land (house) rush.

Margaret - When you reward yourself with a break, we'll be waiting.

Kevin - Turn up at a flight school, and ask about a Trial Instructional Flight". you might have a new future.

Brian - I assume a certain "tongue in cheek" in your comment on progress and change. Good luck in Murray.

Larry

Your right about the tonque in cheek. My great, great  grandfather was the first settler in the Salt Lake Valley, non-ute that is. And he would be amazed to see it today, that is for sure.

I am envious your still flying, I had to give up my license due to a heart problem. I could have got it back after my transplant but didn't, I'm just a passanger now days. Speaking of the transplant that is another thing you can sell, we have one of the best transplant programs in the world and that was the main reason I left my beloved S.F.Bay Area and came home. The hospitals there were trying to kill me.
