Solarize Newburyport-Serious Savings from the Sun

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

Imagine not having to pay an electric bill this month! This is indeed happening for homeowners that are taking advantage of solar energy, and the word is spreading. Now homeowners and small business owners in Newburyport can install solar energy affordably because Newburyport has been chosen as one of the Massachusetts cities taking part in a program that will give great discounts to its residents.

Solarize Newburyport is part of a Solarize Massachusetts program that was launched in 2012 to help homeowners and small business utilize solar energy while reducing costs. It is being run by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center and the Department of Energy Resources.

The idea of the program is to make solar energy more affordable.. The more systems that are purchased or leased in the community the lower the cost. Massachusetts is one the most expensive states regarding energy costs. In a meeting this week at Newburyport City Hall, SunBug Solar, the company selected for the installations spoke about the program. It was pretty interesting to hear how it is possible to become more self sufficient with energy consumption and that it is possible to reduce or eliminate your energy costs. Solar Energy is beneficial even in the cold, blustery winters experienced in New England.  They have found there is a 4-6 year return on investment. Tax credits and rebates are offered with the program.

Any homeowner or small business that has an interest, can contact the company and they will come and do a free site assessment. For more information consult the website  solarizenewburyport.com. The deadline is September 30, 2012.
