ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDER (What Me?)

Daily NotebookFor years I have had a tendency to wander in my mind.  I am working on a project such as a listing presentation, and the phone rings.  This conversation triggers me to move to another task which in turn triggers the thought of another unfinished task.  And so it goes...

We all have the most sophisticated tools today.  Laptops, desk top computers, iPhone, iPad.  You name it, we have it.

And yet sometimes the best way is to go back to an old tried and true source.

"The Notepad".  One by the phone and one in the back pocket.  Just add to do's to the bottom of the list, and work from the top to complete these important tasks.  Simply crossing off completed tasks as they are finished and moving  down the list.

With this simple tool, even though we get sidetracked more and more by unneeded, (and needed) interruptions, we are always back on track by simply "Looking to the spiral notebook".

WOW! Sometimes it's ok to take a step backwards, no?

Wrote a blog yesterday on how to keep yourself smart and the answer was... you guessed it the poor old notebook!  A realtors best friend.  Maybe the younger generation can do do it all electronically but for me the notebook works the best.  Have a great day.

I love lists and feel like it not only keeps me on track to have one, but also means I can move that task out of taking up time in my brain - it's on the list!  (not to mention how much fun it is to cross things OFF)

Thanks Patsy & Nancy for the comments.  I don't think age matters here, writing stuff down works. :-)

Colin-I used to use notepads for lists all the time. I got away from that and do need to get back to that. it really gae me such a feeling of accomplishment.

Yes, exactly! Such a small thing, but once you cross that last task off the list you are like, Wow, I did it.
