We know you’re busy.  As Real Estate Virtual Assistants who work with real estate agents on a daily basis, we understand the tight schedule you keep and the number of things you’re trying to keep balanced on your ever-growing plate.  In fact, you may have already glanced down at the three points here in an effort to gather the information you want and get on with your day.

We get it!  That’s why this post will be short and sweet and to the point.

We all want more likes and interactions on Facebook.  It makes us feel like we are truly reaching our audience and building our clientele that will influence our business now and in the future.  Yet, because of demanding schedules and honestly, more important things like showings, listing appointments, closing and basics like eating and spending time with your family; you can’t spend all day drumming up likes and comments on Facebook.

So, how can you drive traffic to your Facebook page?  More importantly, how can you tell if you are even getting traffic to your site?

There’s a great metric on your Facebook page that measures your external traffic located in the Insights dashboard of your page.  To find it, click on the tool icon under your Timeline cover photo and select View Insights in the dropdown menu.  Click on Reach and scroll down to find "external referrers" at the bottom of the page. You'll see a list of websites and the number of users who arrived from each. Your website and search engines should be near the top of that list.

Now to boost the number of people visiting your Facebook page, make sure you’ve checked off each of the following simple tips!

1. Optimize for Google- Did you know you could optimize your Facebook page for Google?  Be sure to fill out your profile completely, especially the About section, using keyword-rich information to help Google users find you and the real estate services you offer.

2. Drive leads to Facebook- Guest posts, webinars, teleconferences, interviews and your own blog are all great places to promote your Facebook page.  Don’t be afraid to invite people to move from your blog to your Facebook page to talk more about a post, or let potential buyers know you post updated open house information each week to your page.  Find creative ways to get people to see your Facebook page as an engaging tool!

3. Include social icons and share buttons on your website or blog-  If you don’t have your social media icons on your website or blog; you’re missing out on an easy way for people on your website to interact with you on Facebook.  You want these icons in as many visible places as possible!

Driving more people to your Facebook page can be as simple as a few minor changes to your Facebook page, website and blog!  (I told you it'd be short and sweet!)

If you need help making these changes or would like to have one of our social media specialists take your social media off your plate; let us know!  We’re here to help free up your time and put our expertise to work for you!

Hi Shannon, we're glad that our blog taught you something new! The first tip is especially important. It boggles our minds how some agents leave their profile information blank. It's great to have a Facebook page, but if you have no description of what your business is about, no link to your website and no contact information, how do you ever expect to generate leads? You need to make sure you're easily accessible in all aspects of your online presence, and that includes Facebook. Leaving off this important information could stop you from getting phone calls from fans. Make sure you fill out everything that you can. The more information the consumer has upon "liking" your page, the better.

Jay, have you started implementing any of these ideas on your Facebook page yet? We think it's awesome you found them so helpful! Just remember that you won't see success overnight with social media. An effective online presence takes a lot of time to build. If you keep your eye on the ball and have a little patience, however, you WILL see success.

Hi Roy, we're flattered that you'd want to post our blog on your Facebook page! Did you ever end up posting? What sort of response did you get from the article? We'd love to hear what your network thought of our article.

Hi Debbie, thanks so much for continuing to read and comment on our blogs! We appreciate it so much. YES, Pinterest is not to be forgotten! It's become so relevant that it needs to be added to all websites, email signatures and marketing material. It's crazy how a new social media site can become so popular so quickly, and it's hard to keep up with all the sites you should be marketing sometimes. If you're going to make one a priority, though, it's Pinterest. Get a link to it on all of your marketing pieces!

Diana, thanks for the comment! We're glad you found our blog post so helpful.

Hi Joyce, thanks so much for passing our post along! Although your office handles the Facebook and social media stuff, it might be helpful for them to read some of our tips and tricks so they can implement it on your behalf. It's great that you have that support in-office! Not all agents do.

Hi Mike, thanks so much for reading our post! We hope that our advice will help you during your social media efforts. Feel free to share your results with us! We'd love to hear if these tactics work for you.
