Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Real Estate Mid-Month Resale Figures Up 5.6%
Sales growth occurred in the regions surrounding the City of Toronto with sales across the GTA up 5.6% for the first half of July over the same period last year according to figures released by GTA REALTORS® through the Toronto Real Estate board (TREB)
- Sales across the GTA in the first 14 days of the month totaled 3679 up from 3484 sales in the same period a year ago.
- Listings across the GTA were also up (14.4%) over the same period last year.
- Average selling price in the first half of July was $473,466 – up by 2.3 per cent compared to last year.
- On average, homes sold for 98 per cent of the asking price in 25 days – in line with July 2011.

While housing demand remained strong in the first half of July over the rest of the GTA sales in the core city of Toronto were down, the relatively higher cost of home ownership likely prompted some buyers to purchase elsewhere in the GTA.
