Surprise update with UPS tracking service

My nephew ordererd something which was scheduled to be delivered vis UPS.  UPS.com has a pretty good tracking tool online.  When the package failed to arrive he went online to see why.  He was surprised at what he saw.

Sure enough, here is the article in the Billings Gazette about the train derailment:

I am not sure why it took UPS a day and a half to update their tracking log but probably because they had to call their programmer to add a button for "train derailment"

I have never had this issue but my nephew said it is the second time it has happened to him.  Remind me not to ever ride Amtrack with him.

Oh the funny things you can dig up now a days, that you might never know about before the internet.

Train derailment. A new reason for delay, to be sure!
