Lebanon Blues FestivalLebanon Blues Festival August 4 2012:  Blues, Cars and Running!

It's time for the Lebanon Blues Festival!  One of the biggest annual bashes and a great excuse to visit historic downtown Lebanon!  Now in its 14th edition, the Lebanon Blues Festival will be held on Mulberry Street from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday August 4th.

And the Lebanon Blues Festival is more than just music!  For you runners out there, lace up your shoes and join the 7th Annual Red Host Blues Run, with events of 5k and 15k!  Run starts at 7 p.m, check in time 4:30 p.m.  Race starts in front of the Golden Lamb in downtown Lebanon.  Proceeds benefit the Lebanon City Parks system.  Registration gets you entered in the race and a T-shirt.  $25 if you pre-register, $30 day of event.  Registration forms available at www.LebanonOhio.gov or www.speedy-feet.com.  Race starts in front of The Golden Lamb.

And if running isn't your style (we can relate), then you're going to love the Classic Car show!  Register your car on-site for $15/car.  Display time is 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. and proceeds benefit the local youth via the Warrior Backpack Program!  Thanks to the organizers Run of the MillStreetRodders!

And for the Lebanon Blues Festival itself, you get 8 bands performing live!
11 a.m.  Sharon Lane
12:30 p.m.  Greg Schaber
2 p.m.  Ricky Nye with Bekah Williams
3:30 p.m.  The Juice
5 p.m.  Miss Lissa & Company
6:30 p.m.  The Inner City Blues Band
8 p.m.  Preston Shannon of The Voice
9:45 p.m.  The Blues Merchants

And of course, there WILL be food, and you can bet BBQ will get some attention!  So if you've got a hankering to get the BLUES, head to historic downtown Lebanon August 4th and have a great time!

And another cool thing about the Lebanon Blues Festival?  It's the major fundraiser for the Lebanon Optimist's Club!

Bobbie, They'll get a good crowd for sure!  Mulberry Street will be packed.

This sounds like a great time with something for everyone. I would do the 5K, but I have to walk them now because of a bad knee. Food and music together in an outdoor setting...what more could you ask for.

Hello Bliz Team,

I used to go to the Blues festival in Idlewild Michigan. It was really good to.

I love these events. Artists get to showcase their talents to a wider audience.

Have a good time.

Best, Clint mckie

Debbie, There will need to be zombies involved before you catch me running!  But the rest sounds pretty appealing :)

Anita, Definitely enough diversity for the event to entertain everyone.

Kathy, Sometimes the posts just need some freshening up from the previous year :)  One of the nice things about having a library of localism posts to tap.

Carie, Yep, our dog is still here, still have jobs, still married....there's nothing here for the blues or country to work on!

Clint, It's definitely good for the residents and the artists.  You never know when you're going to find a new favorite singer or band.

Ginny, They did a great job bringing it all together.  Blues, cars, runners....that's a pretty good cross-section to appeal to.
