I am currently working with REO's and want to expand into short sales. Besides learning from Active Rain members, is there any classes or online resources anyone would recommend?

wow. there are a ton of guru's touting their wares (boot camps, cd's & books) but as far as one to recommend....that's tough. if you go to www.thecreativeinvestor.com and just start reading in some of the forums, that might give you some leads. there is a forum specifically for short sales.

Hey Sean,
I would ask your local Short Sale agents if they know of any classes they took in your area. It's good to learn how to list from your immediate peers seeing laws are different for every state. Good luck to you.

Sean, I would also be cautious with information. I've found a lot of things you hear others say are untrue,If s9meone says "Borrower must be behind in payments" to get approved or "they'll only pay 5%"-- question it. Question everything. You do learn by doing, too. Read the posts. Don't be afraid to ask loss mitigation representatives and negotiators general questions. Some of them will really share, especially if you are not making it about the specific deal you are working on. Every lender is different, too.
