Blogging is a First Amendment Right!

Now a judge in New York confirms our right.
Not that we are advocating either person's position, but we should be so grateful that our Founders gave us this right!
Bob, people have been flogged, tarred and feathered and drawn and quartered for expressing their opinions throughout history. How lucky we are to have the right to say how we feel and not be thwarted or physically "taken to task" for our thoughts being voiced--I LOVE blogging, it's very freeing!
BLOGGING is a new form of speech and it is a FREEDOM we should embrace, enjoy and promote!
It is freedom of speech and expression, but you still can't slander or do anyhing else illegal, and your broker must approve of your blogging. Most agents don't know that brokers must give their agents their approval to start and maintain a blog.
Blogging is fre and I am surprised more people do not take advantage of it.
Blogging though does have it rules and there are some that do not follow them. We have seen Real Estate blogs with the mention of commissions, and that's a no, no under our Long Island regulations...

Larry & Sheila, you are right. Laws on real estate practices put limits on free speech.
Jeff, likewise laws against slander rightfully limit our right. Thanks for the reminder about broker permission.
Remember it is another form of advertising and thus your broker must be referenced.
I'm glad I don't blog about anything political - I prefer NOT to blog from behind bars in a foreign country
We have a case here in Oregon where a person left a church and wrote a blog about the church and the church sued her and all the commentators that used to belong to the church and agreed with her comments. (Should be an interesting case)
