Dear TZ,
I have 3 children, ages 5 through 14 and I am very concerned about their education. I want to make sure that our new home is in a town where the schools are good. Can you tell me about the schools in Union County?

Dear Pete,
We are very proud of our Union County Schools. Annually, Newsweek Magazine scours the data from the nation's high schools and culls the top 1000 schools, based on the critera of which schools are most effective in producing college-ready graduates. This year, 11 Union County high schools ranked in the top 1000 in the Nation.
Of course you want to make sure that your children's new schools will be good.In 1995, legislation was passed that school performance must be public and therefore New Jersey schools are compared on a variety of indices and all of that information is compiled into one data base with public access. You can compare all of the towns that you're considering and make an informed decision based upon data.
The New Jersey Schools Report Card can be found by clicking here.
Good luck!
