Wow! I have had buyers tell me they've peeked in windows of foreclosed homes or those they know are vacant. I don't particularly agree with that practice, either, and absolutely disagree with peeking in the windows of occupied homes. Just a show of disrespect, in my opinion.
Anna- seems that common sense and respect are lacking in this behavior. I understand the temptation but they need to resist it!
Corinne- horses and non horse people are generally a poor mix anyway and throw in an actively working guard dog- DANGEROUS! We have 8 horses and have previously had people drive up in our yard and wander about to let the kids pet the horses. We have a private facility far off the road and not for sale!
This is the way it goes in many cases, but c'mon it's just nice to knock!
Peggy- I do wish an alarm would go off just as they got near to the house, that might get their attention and put a stop to this peeking problem. Somehow they do not view it as trespassing even when I assure them that it is.
Laura - knocking is a better choice ,for sure. Actually, scheduling a showing with their agent is the best!! That way the owner is not put on the spot and can schedule this around their real life.
We had a buyer peeking in a house at dawn one time that was met with a gun. I still laugh my butt off when thinking about that call from the seller.
Joyce- OK that would probably be a bit of a heads up for the Peeker Parties!!
Kathleen I think this happens just about eveywhere. I suggest that people don't do that but I know they do if the home looks vacant.
