Surviving Summer as a Realtor, College Student, Mother of Five...

By
Commercial Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Commercial

I'm not complaining but this has been a non-stop Summer.  I realized recently that I have three full time jobs as Realtor, college student at Rochester College, and mom to kids who are still too young to leave home and eat constantly!  Oh! That's why I feel like this.  Run, run, run.  How will it benefit my readers to know this?  Not sure except that it takes discipline to do all three seamlessly without anyone knowing that it is an extreme effort.  I am told this is normal and will pass.

Well, it takes careful planning, list making, and letting other people help.  The kids will be fine as long as they know you are there.  We have taken short vacations around Michigan and Detroit. Beautiful places like Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Detroit Institute of the Arts, and so much more.  I do most of this myself because my husband is traveling a lot as he starts his new clean-tech business. The kids need to venture out of Rochester and learn about this great state. Tomorrow I am driving them to the Upper Peninsula and we are all nervous about going over the Mackinac Bridge for the first time to see Lake Superior. And, oh yes, the textbook for my next class just arrived, all 600 pages of it in tiny print.

I would like your comments on this.  ActiveRainers are supportive people, that's why I stay close to this website.  You are becoming family.  Thanks!!

Hi Mary, I fully understand. I'm a mom of 2 little ones - I don't have college on my plate anymore (hats off to you!) but living the military life brings its own set of challenges.

Your readers, customers and clients benefit from knowing this because it takes outstanding organization skills and lots of patience to make it all happen - 2 important characteristics not every agent possesses. It's all about setting priorities, scheduling, delegating and taking time for yourself, too.
