"If you stop texting and log off Facebook for a moment, you may learn something". In adult education such a comment is equivalent to telling a middle school kid to take his finger out of his nose.
The training I attended today was first rate. There were big wig agents from ReMax, Keller Williams, and a couple of independents. The speakers were sharing their insights and tricks of the trade. Frankly if I could have written with two hands I would have left with twice the notes. The material was first rate from state to finish, a rare bird indeed.
So back to the opening line... If the training was this Top Gun cool, why was a sizable contingent mentally zoned out? Because some agents aren't willing to burn the energy required to crawl in the lifeboat. Failure for them is a certain as an SEC Representative in the BCS Championship game.
Back in my college teaching days I witnessed such behavior on a regular basis. Students struggling? Just assign extra credit and watch those grades inflate. But a funny thing happened...Usually the only ones to complete extra credit assignments were the top students. Those D/F students would typically blow off extra credit just like the rest of the curriculum.
The resources are out there. We have proven systems to generate leads, cultivate clients, and grow your business. Much of this information is available free online. And yet many agents will never close the first deal. As the broker my goal is to help the agents in the lifeboat row a fast as possible. The unmotivated are left to float as best they can.
