You can't believe everything you read...

In today's high tech world where you can get information everywhere you need to be careful about what you read and who you send it to.  I find my inbox filled with emails that have been forwarded from a friend about everything from "How to unlock your car using your remote and a cellphone" to 'How the Healthcare Bill is imposing a 3.8% on all home sales".

The first thing I do before I forward any email I get is to verify the information before forwarding it.  I utilize www.snopes.com to see what their take on it is.  More than likely it is just another internet hoax and a way for some spammer to get access to everyone in your contact list.  To be honest, I generally reply to the sender letting them know they have just participated in spamming their friends and ask them to think about what they are forwarding and checking it out before they do it the next time.

You never know, I might just be helping a lot of people from getting more junk in their inboxes.

Ugh, I get some of those emails and quite a few of them are just outright hoaxes and some are half truths. I can't believe people who just pass them along as if they are gospel truth. Too many clowns and not enough circuses.

Great bit of advice. We all should do this more often.

Re OC; I used to go there often when I lived in Arlington, VA. I used to work at the Crazy Horse in DC and we often would go to OC for the day, leaving work at 2 AM. We would always send someone ahead, they would leave at 1 AM to go and get subs at a sub shop that used to stay open to 5 AM on weekends. Don't know if is still there but was right on the beach near the road you come into town on. Those were the days, cheers cvc
