If you get a chance and are around the New Britain area, stop by Walnut Hill Park and visit their beautiful Rose Garden. The roses are currently in full bloom, and on a sunny blue sky day like today, their colors are vibrant and inviting.
But today and tomorrow there will be an extra treat there…Sun Boxes! As stated by the New Britain Herald:
“A two-day production involving the serenity of yoga will ease its way into the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden Wednesday and Thursday.
“Sun Boxes,” a contemplative sound installation by Connecticut native Craig Colorusso, involves 20 sound speakers each with a solar panel powering the sound of a guitar chord.
The public is invited to walk the garden and experience the serene effect of the surround of peaceful, relaxing sound ideal for a rose garden in full bloom.
To inaugurate the two-day appearance of Colorusso’s creation, which has traveled the country, the Friends of the Walnut Hill Park Rose Garden will sponsor a yoga class for all Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The garden is located in Walnut Hill Park near the World War I monument.”
