It is now "after the Holidays" and the phone is ringing again!

Have you noticed the phone is ringing more lately?  Have you had people telling you they would wait until after the Holidays to buy a home?  It is now "After the Holidays"!  The buyers are out there, and they are looking at homes!

I have spoken with quite a number of Agents since the New Year began, and the consensus is that Buyers are out there in greater numbers than before!  They are thinking of moving in the Spring, and now is the time to consider purchasing a home!

With Interest rates lower than they have been in two years, and the Media saying that they are going to be reduced again, with home inventories high, and price reductions all around, most see m to think it is a great time to buy a home.

I am sitting in an open house this Sunday Afternoon, and have had 23 visitors to my listing in the Boro of Quakertown!  My goodness!  What a turnout for a January day when the Indianapolis Colts are hosting the San Diego Charges in the National Football League Playoffs.  If the Philadelphia Eagles were in the playoffs, perhaps we would not have had such a good turnout.

But the Buyers are looking to buy!  What a wonderful thing!  People are actually giving out their contact information and email address, and allowing our financing people  to call them to get pre approved.

How is it in your market?  Has the phone started ringing again with folks looking to move in the Spring?

Donald, here in Idaho we have seen a boost since the middle of Dec., when rates started dropping. (The rate reduction the media is talking about is the Fed Rate that affects short term rates - investors determine what happens with the long term rates.) Rates are awesome right now and it is a very attractive time to buy!

I have been so busy since the day after Christmas.  The market right now almost seems like the market we just came out of.  It's good to be busy again.

I think the buyers are shaking off some of their fears and starting to take a more serious look.

Don,

I agree, the buyers have came out!  Wow!  Who would of thunk?  I think we are going to have a good spring market.  I do think however that if the Eagles were in the playoffs, you would not of had as many visitors.  Also the weather has been good, and that certainly does not hurt.  Keep selling!! Have a great day!

Donald - It is the weirdest thing (though I must say there is no substitute for persistence & hard work) but I've been off the charts busy as well.  This has been the best start to a year I've ever had so I'm glad you are reaping the same rewards.  Hope 2008 continues to be strong for you and I look forward to eventually meeting up!

Put 40 years of experience to work for you

I've held open houses in Land Park the last two Sundays, and I have been flooded with buyers. I'm getting inquiries and phone calls, and it's like the market has exploded. But the last four January's, for some reason, have been like this. The slow down is not evident in the core area of Sacramento. Pendings sales are becoming longer lists in the hot sheets and expireds are fewer. Inventory is reducing a bit, too, which will help to drive up prices. It's not a rebound, by any stretch, but it is good news!

Not only that, but my stats on About.com went through the roof last week (which serves me as an indicator of what's happening nationally). Highest overall page views I've ever received. It's phenomenal. There's a lot of renewed interest in real estate.
