The fickleness of love. Not too long ago I wrote how much I loved my Evo 4G cellphone. Then one day into my 2 year contract with Sprint I saw a TV ad showing the Samsung Galaxy Note. It is a cellphone and a tablet combo. OMG, that's just what I wanted! I was going to wait for Dell's version (which was even bigger), but they scrapped it. So I patiently dealt with my Evo 4G, who was showing signs of restlessness anyway. We were growing apart. When I wanted to make a phone call, all he wanted to do was reboot. There was a period of time towards the end where he kept dropping my calls on me. I had it with him!
I also didn't want to swtich from Sprint to At&T, but I had to make that choice if I wanted the Note. My bill will be higher, thankfully we can write that off.
I had seen the Note in stores and held the big boy in my hands and squealed with delight. I wanted one so bad! Dang contracts. I even studied the Samsung Galaxy S III, which hadn't come out yet so I couldn't test it. But I wanted that big Note. Sometimes size does matter ;)
The only negative things I read about it was the size. Many people didn't like that you couldn't work with it using one hand. My contract with Sprint expired a month before my husband's did, so I figured I could try out the Note to make sure I liked it and if not, I would return it and exchange it for the Galaxy S III, which was scheduled to be out by then.
After that month no one was taking my Note away! I had purchased the new iPad prior to the Note and was in love with it. I have my Note as a hotspot and was bringing my iPad with everywhere, but I've since been using the Note instead to check e-mail and do quick MLS searches on the road. In fact, until this weekend's update in our MLS, I couldn't access our MLS tax records on the iPad because they were run with Flash.
I use the Note's stylus all the time. Have Swype set-up and can quickly write up an e-mail.
It is also a conversation starter. People ask me about it when they see it. I'm sure it looks funny when I'm on the phone with the big thing against my ear, especially with my lime green gel case, but I don't care.
I realize that technology is constantly changing, and I couldn't imagine my eye wandering from my Evo 4G, so I know if there's something bigger and better in 2 years, I'll probably switch. A 7" tablet that's also a phone - I'll buy it. Back to a bluetooth ear piece - no problem.
My husband got the Samsung Galaxy S III, which he loves. It is extremely light and supposedly one of the best phones out there right now. Just wasn't big enough for me.
