France- Another country some of my International readers are from. Not sure if many of you remember but I wrote a blog earlier this month Want to say hello and thank you very much to my international readers. One way to show that I appreciate my International readers is to try and learn more about them. Know about their lifestyle. Know about their culture. Know about their country. Know about their languages. Anything to make me know about my International readers.

So today I am going to share some information on France.

  • It is the largest nation in Western Europe, with countries like Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg, Andorra and Monaco sharing its boundary.
  • There are approximately 6 million visitors annually, who come to set their sights on the Eiffel Tower.EIFFEL TOWEL
  • The Tour de France, the most famous bicycle race in the world is an annual bicycle race of the country in which cyclists cover over 2100 miles in 23 days.
  • April Fool's Day is believed to have originated in France, in 1564, when the country started following the Gregorian Calendar. Those that did not know about the switch in the calendars, were mocked on this day as they continued to believe that 1st April was the first day of the French new year.

  • Statute of Liberty in New YorkThe Statue of Liberty, one of the most widely recognized structures of US, was made in France. It was then gifted to the US in 1886 to celebrate its centennial. In fact, the face of the statue is believed to have been modeled on Eugene Boyer, the wife of Isaac Singer, the famous sewing machine manufacturer.
  • While beer is considered a luxury drink saved for special occasions, wine is free with most meals.
  • France has the highest wealth tax, than other country in Europe. This I actually found out this year.  French president pledges to tax rich who make over $1.35 a year 75 percent
You learn something new everyday. Well I hope you learned something too just as much as I did. Its warm outside. Go time to go out and go buy something nice. And if you are in France, you can come and invest your hard earned money in Real Estate to avoid paying taxes in France. You can start your "Massachusetts Ave Heights DC Home buying search"HERE. And as they say in France  "Au revoir". That means Goodbye :-). Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Lanre - Interesting facts about France!  I remember being startled shortly after I downloaded the ClustrMaps widget and realized that I had readers from all over the world.  I have some in France too, and I have to admit that there were a couple of small countries that show up on my map that I had to search to find.  I just hope that I continue to write content that they find interesting and helpful.

Lanre, this is my favorite city on the whole planet!  Here's one I took of the statue on top of the Opera.

Lanre,

I had a chance to visit a great place to go. I need to return because I did not get a chance to see the Mona Lisa. Those taxes are pretty rough

Hi Lanre I've received my I.R.E.S. Designation in Vancouver, BC, Canada and I noticed that you have similar designations.  I'm messaging you because I want to expand my international connections.  I'm presently building a larger network so that your listings can be featured in my city (for an international exposure), and mine can be featured by you.  Presently I have approximately 20 listings which might be of interest to you.

Interested?  Look forward to chatting some more with you with respect to co-listing each other's properties, if you are interested in speaking further?  Cheers, Jark.
