I heard the buzz about Pinterest for several months before I asked for permission to enter another social media site. After several people told me, "Norma, you will love it," I finally ventured into the world of pinning. It is now the first thing I want to do in the morning and often the last things I do at night.
It is fun or is it work? From my perspective it is both. Who doesn't love beautiful pictures? If those photos enrich my life with their beauty, sentiment or memories and send other pinners to my blog or web site--all the better. I've always been a fan of multi-tasking. My love houses takes many paths-- looking at them, decorating them and for the past twenty plus years, selling them. I photograph houses, doors and windows when I travel.
Yes, a large part of my life revolves around real estate and I do enjoy my work. However, I have other interests and passions I pursue with equal verve and joy. Pinterest is an easy way to share with clients (and the world) what drives me. It is also a journey into what motivates and moves me. I pin what inspires me and what makes me smile. I pin what makes me think, plan and strive to improve. Pinning is a great way to find what matters to you and send daily focus in that direction.
Perhaps it is just a phase, but pinning is the newest addition to my daily social media calendar. It is something I do for myself and by doing so I give others a glimpse into who I am, what I do, what I want to do, where I've been and where I still hope to go. It doesn't get much more transparent than that.
