UBUNTU - The REAL Meaning of Teamwork
I love the story that Oregon's Naked Blogger, Melinda Peterson, told today.
It's a running theme - bring someone down, and you fall down with them. Bring someone up, and you rise up as well. Certainly applies to business, to personal relationships, and to life.
UBUNTU - The REAL Meaning of Teamwork!
An Anthropologist suggested the following game to a group of children in an African tribe... He placed a basket full of fresh fruit under a tree. Then he said that whoever reached the basket first in a race would be the winner of all the fruit.
As he gave the signal to begin the race, the whole group held hands and ran in unison to the tree. Then they sat down and enjoyed the prize together.
When he asked why they had done such a thing, when he had offered the possibility to one to be the ultimate winner, they replied; "UBUNTU"... 'How could one of us be happy (feel happiness) while the rest are in despair (unhappy)?'
In the Xhosa culture, Ubuntu means: "I am, because we are." Perhaps we Realtors could learn a thing or two from the Xhosa people ;)))UBUNTU - The REAL Meaning of Teamwork!
