If NY had gotten the Olympics, the opening ceremony would not have been like watching paint dry...they should have had Andrew Lloyd Weber do it, and the bill was $42 and a half million...EEGADS, I think NY won! A

Alexandra, If NY had gotten the Olympics my summer would have been ruined. I've been so busy this summer the Olympics here probably would have interfered with my business, getting around, being able to show, list etc.

Larry, I didn't know that. Paul McCartney was good. The Beatles and Rolling Stones are the two best rock and roll bands from England.

Hannah, Thank you, I just had a bidding war on a studio rental listing. Rents are going up it may be cheaper to buy. I would love to help your friend's children.

Pat, The mayor thought without the stadium the area would never be developed. Turns out the stadium would have prevented commercial and residential development. Who wants to live or work near a stadium? Nobody except hot dog vendors lol.

(BTW, Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones was my client back in the 70's - he had a summer house in Woodstock!)

Hi Peggy, Thanks. Great client. Ron Wood. I love Woodstock NY. I was actually at Woodstock the summer of 1969 at Max Yasgur's farm. I was 13 yo. I attended summer camp 45 minutes away in the Poconos. The camp thought it was a good idea to take us to the Woodstock Festival because it was so close rather than our usual camp trip to the Tanglewood Music Festival in the Berkshires. It was fun until it hit the news and all the parents called freaking out "Get our kids out of there"

Dale, I agree. The commercial and residential real estate development instead will impact our local economy long into the future. Personally I'm releaved that I'm able to get around relatively easy this week. These huge events disrupt the city and usually force locals to get out of town. I'm looking forward to selling the new inventory.

Mitchell... I love this! Very nicely done... As far as Woodstock.. i don't know how the camp got you out of there?? If I remember correctly the roads were closed and the traffic was crazy! What a cool camp you went to.. If you have not done so yet, you should head up to the museum.. I find it the funniest thing ever... small bus loads of children come to see the world famous site of the famous music festival that had a theme of "drugs, sex & rock and roll" . It is a fun place to visit.

Hi Janis, Thanks, regarding Woodstock it was not easy getting out. They couldn't get us out until Saturday evening so we were there all day Friday, Friday night, and most of the day Saturday. We slept there in plastic tents.

We took country roads back to camp not the NY State thruway which was closed. The camp was in Winterdale PA, the nearest town was Hancock NY.

It was a very cool camp. Years later and even when I became an adult my father would refer to "Camp Willoway" as the "hippy" camp. Everytime we would have an argument he would say "I'm sorry I ever sent you to that Hippy camp"

I'm not, I loved it! LOL. I will have to check out the museum.

I'm with Ron & Alexandra. I think you won out, except for the traffic. Cities with the Olympics tend to be like ghost towns since the residents leave. It was like that in L.A. in '84. You really did not know they were here. And yes, except for the bit with the Queen and James Bond, I thought the opening ceremony was a big yawn.
