Debb-great line-up of movies for August.  I remember Chitty Chitty . . . and Dolphin Tale.  My daughter takes her sons to outdoor movie in Erie during summer months.

Nice localism post.

Gary - I like the thought of just sitting on a big lawn and staring at the stars...the movie is a bonus. :)

Rene, I haven't gone in a long while either - when kids grow up, there goes the fun. Ha.

Hi Mary, I was thinking a couple of my grandkids would enjoy this event. The 5 and 4 year olds, the other 2 are still too young.

Hi Debb - Great localism post - everyone likes having fun. I love outdoor movies and New Belgium Brewery does these every week in the summer, and we have a working drive-in with a twin screen and 1st run films, too.

Debb, great Localism post and how fun it would be to watch movies after dark!    Right now in Denver, it may not work, as we are getting 14 sprinkles every afternoon/early evening.

I think you are absolutely correct saying ther is somehting special about watching a movie or anything for that matter under the stars on a warm summer night. This should be a fun event for the children.

Oh, gosh, Debb, that takes me back to going to the drive-in as a kid!  One of our family's favorite pasttimes. Man, did we haul a TON of food with us, too!  We couldn't wait til we got parked, picked out a speaker that actually worked and wished for darkness quickly. Let the munching begin!

Good movies, too--I loved A Dolphin Tale. And Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?  WOW!
