Vacation Blues
It is that time of year that we try to take sometime off to enjoy the summer. Whether it is several days or several weeks, we try to get away to rest and have some fun. The hard part is coming back with the vacation blues.
My husband and I are planning a 10 day cruise in October, but we wanted to take a long weekend somewhere close to home. We decided to drive to Sarasota, on the west coast of Florida, about 3 hours from the Space Coast. As we were driving, I kept checking my phone for emails and text to see what business might be happening.
We stayed at a lovely hotel on the beach and were walking distance from St. Armand Circle. On the first day, I would check my phone every half hour to see if I was missing anything. The second day it was every hour. And by the last day I was not even caring my phone. As the days unwound, so did I.
Now, I am back home trying to pick up the pace and I am having a hard time. I am sure that by the end of the week, I will have my phone glued to my hand again. Oh, those vacation blues.
