The 2nd Largest City in Pennsylvania - Nascar at Pocono Raceway

This is the week that quiet Long Pond in the pristine Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania turns into the 2nd largest city in Pennsylvania, Pocono Raceway Pocono 400.   With a huge base of loyal fans, Nascar races draw tens of thousand of people to our resort area.  And I just read an interesting fact - the biggest toilet facility in the "world," known as the Long John, has 1000 stalls so there is no waiting.  I haven't been to a 400 race in a long time so if someone can let me know, are any of those stalls for women?  The racetrack also boasts a 150 site motor park with water, sewer and electricity.  There are picnic tables and gazebos all over.   The fan friendly Paddock Area puts you 56 feet away from the cars.  We are within 200 miles of 60 million people.  So if you are reading this and one of those 60 million, drive on over and have a great weekend at the Prettiest, Friendliest, and Cleanest racetrack in the world.

If LOWE's Motor Speedway in Charlotte is Jimmy Johnson's house, then Pocano/Long Pond is Denny Hamlin's house - I would not bet against him on Sunday!

Hi Maggie

Nascar is a traveling city week in, week out.  How wonderful to celebrate road racing in your mountains!  Go Dale JR, number 1 in points for the championship trophy.

Watch those other contenders like Tony Stewart, Marcus Ambrose, Jimmie Johnson and the bad boy..Kyle Bush who just truly excel with the twist and turns excitement of this race.

I can see the blue skies and smell the mountain air as I write!  Enjoy the roar
