If Your Goal Does Not Scare You It Is Not Big Enough

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty 0575737

Skies LimitIn looking at the last five months of this year left to accomplish an existing goal or create a new goal, and thinking of all the current Olympians this time of year trying to achieve their dreams think

If Your Goal Does Not Scare You It Is Not Big Enough.

In the corporate world they called this a "stretch goal" pushing you beyond comfortabe boundaries. It really does help us GROW a lot more when we go where we have not gone before. I am not talking a Star Trek mantra here but PUSHING yourself to see what you are made of.

Easy goals may make us feel good but why think the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon??

Hi Gary, I believe we have to get out of our "Comfort Zones" to think and to dream Big. We should always be setting Newer and Higher Goals.

That's the thing, stay out of your comfort zone and you have a better chance at getting more.

I never thought of it that way, but I love that phrase -- If your goal does not scare you, it is not big enough. Love it!

Your goal should be right on the edge of being to hard.  Juat hard enough for you to have to stretch to make it.

Gary, the picture says it all to me! We can take adversity and be stymied by it, or move through it to "go for the gold", much like what Michael Phelps did to be the most decorated Olympian ever. He could have been stopped by 4th place, but he didn't let it stop him from reaching for the pinnacle.

I need a good scare.  I've seemed to hit the same sales level every year when I really need to step out of my comfort zone and take it to the next level.  Time to push and set more challenging goals

This is so true...along with change, "scary goals" really do push oneself to be a better person.....

but why think the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon?? This is very good and so true. Goals are meant to push us. At least that's the way I look at them. If you set them too low, what have you really accomplished?

I think my goals can be scary sometimes. Agree it should be scary so that it pushes you to achieve it. But that sling shot is scary in a different way...
