The Christian Rock Band that I play drums for, J.O.E. (Jesus Owns Everything), did our best Milli Vanilli* imitation at the video shoot for Eric Lee, a country singer. His song " Small Town Ways" & the video will be played on CMT in about a month. Y'all be sure to watch out for it. And the Goooooood Lookin' Drummer - "the SOLD man" (aka - Me).
With the temperature right at 100 and muggy, we set up in a field with a bunch of rusted old cars and trucks (actually, pretty neat props if you're a car guy), then went to set up on a dock for a Wedding Party. And finally on a stage at Bama Jam Park where they filmed a John Anderson (the national hit "Swinging" from several years ago) video there a few weeks ago. I was in a country band that opened for him about 20 years ago (NOW I feel old!!). We got to play some of our original songs there and hope to return when they are having some Christian Bands playing in the near future.
Fun day, but not one that I'd like to repeat!!!
* For those who don't remember "Mill Vanilli", they were a duo in the 80's, I think, who got busted for lip-syncing songs in concerts that real studio musicians actually sang. I believe they even won some awards before the scandal broke.
