Are You Writing Canned Responses?

Did you know that you can save some key strokes and use a Gmail "canned response" when prospecting?

Okay, okay, I know that personal relationships are what we are all doing here, but what about the leads that RE/MAX sends me from the website? I basically say the same things to them and found a way to save some of the typing. (Once they reply and we can chat in person, away goes the canned stuff!)

First, let me say that Google Labs is great. If you're a Gmail user and have never looked around there, do it. That's where you'll find this little goodie called "CANNED RESPONSES."

From your Gmail account, go to SETTINGS>LABS. It will have several widgets that can plug right into your Gmail.

To create/save a Canned Response, just type it out and then click the drop down that is now over your main body area and SAVE it. (Be sure to remove your signature from this area or it will be on there twice when you drop the canned version into a new email).

Now it's as simple as putting the email address in, selecting a Canned Responce and SENDING it away! No more copy/pasting from a DRAFT or from a Word document.

Have fun and hope this leads to many NON-CANNED conversations!

Excellent blog. I just recently canned all my typical responses. Saves me & my admin LOADS of time replying to clients with general updates, etc. I suggested your blog, too. :)
