It was going to happen sooner or later. Staten Island seems to be land of opportunity to all these new businesses. I hope there is going to be enough business for all these new stores and restaurants.  The economy is not strong for people to go out and shop like they use to.

The way staten island is going this is just par for the course. When arts and such should be more in the forefront or other civic minded things. We need more places to shop like we need more over development. S.I is in

process of pricing out the middle class, more and more S.I'ers are moving to New jersey.

We don't really need this.

I thought smaller or taller would be ideal with a green buffer on all shore line areas. Right now the greenery planned is sparce and the movie theatre is taking up every bit of the south west corner. Why is this necessary?

But, The access roads are also primary concern.  Two lanes and 4000 cars is whats planned now and totally stupid and irresponsible on the part of the developers and approval agencies.

The more Natural the better.

More green yes, a beach that actually can be used maybe even like a beach club but free yeah! As far

as the store maybe some we can actually use like a trader joes, or nicer supermarket like fairway ....

Great idea if its done right...will need alot of security though.

Leave the little bit of country that is left alone! We don't need another strip mall..  We need the trees more than the strip mall

Good job reporting Connie. Keep us posted. I'm suprised the city would allow developers to build a mall on wetlands and ponds and cut down 25 acres of trees. Bloomberg is supposed to be the green Mayor.

I think it will destroy the bucolic nature of Tottenville, and turn it into another Forest Ave. if we don't watch out

My personal opinion is that staten iskland is already packed with people and places. there is too much over development of housing and shops and businesses. I mean i get the whole lets have more jobs and help the economy, but in all realization on top of having really no room for the site, we are also in the process of killing ourselves by demolishing more of nature.. this is a very old island and is being turned into something tht it wasnt supposed to be. The site is a bad idea and i agree with what is said above... the traffic will be rediculous and the bridge woint be able to handle it. Also,m the residents of this island wont really be to complying with the idea.. we have a mall. Dont need another one!!!!!!

They are going to be added a new Regal Cinemas here.

REGAL WATERFRONT COMMONS STADIUM 14 COMING SOON IN 2012.

This makes 3 Regal Entertainment Group Theaters in Staten Island alone, Their would be 4 but one closed down in the Travis section.

Michael,  Is there a new sign up on the property stating the theatre is going to be built?
