Chick-Fil-A Supporters Rock! As in "CASTING STONES" ?!?!?

The title of this re-blog says it all -- they ROCK!  As in, casting stones!?!

Shame, shame, shame.

My comment will be deleted, I'm sure, but this is what I left on the post:

Do you think Jesus would be there?? I doubt it. Just sayin' Most people have no idea, have forgotten, or can not relate to . . . how accepting Jesus was. The majority of Christians have forgotten The Sermon on the Mount.

"Treat people the same way you would like to be treated."

"Don’t just love those who look, act and think like you—love your enemies, too."

Jesus touched the lepers when no one else would.  He was accepting.

Jesus accetped the prostitutes, the Samaritan woman at the well when no one else would . . . have Christians fogotten Jesus' love and compassion for those members of society that weren't exactly accepted in society??

Jesus prevented a stoning (a brutal killing, a barbaric tortuous death) of an "adulterous" woman.

It's hard to dialouge with people about their religious beliefs when they have an overly-processed, pre-frozen, factory raised (probably never saw the light of day poultry farm), conveyor-belt slaughtered chicken stuffed into their mouths.

What are the "supporters" telling us?  They can't stand the thought of (Chick-fill-A in the blank) . . . so let's go stuff a chicken sandwich in our pie holes . . . that'll show 'em.

Okay -- Carla can be crucified by the haters between noon and 2 p.m. tomorrow, just in case Free Speech doesn't work both ways.

Well looks like the boycott against Chick-Fil-A got off to a bad start and now I really believe ignited a firestorm against the liberal beliefs that has been tearing down our country for the last few years!

The liberal leaning news hasn't really covered it very well but there was explosive turn out yesterday to patronize Chick-Fil-A. I would venture to say that every single Chick restaurant had record sales yesterday and those sales beat their opening day sales.

I had breakfast there yesterday, tried to get in there for lunch but traffic too backed up and then(a very noval idea) our church monthly fellowship meal last night was chicken. I took this picture at the supper last night.

I am so proud of our congregation supporting the anti boycott but most proud of all of you for getting the word out and joining with Gov Huckabee to show the liberal media that we are not going to take it anymore!

Carla - it's certainly a controversial issue and while Chick-Fil-A restaurants seem to be doing OK, it was a very risky move to take on a very sensitive and political issue. I think they have their right to free speech but very risky. Regards Dave

Hi Dave . . . we have separation of chuch and state, which is a wonderful concept.

Hey Bob -- since this is a re-blog of an original post, you might want to ask the question to the original poster.  I'm just doing a "counter-point," perhaps a little more food (on the controversy table) for thought. I TOTALLY agree with the question:  What does it have to do with real estate?!?  Which is exactly what I thought when I reed the original post.   And to that, I deflect your question be asked to the original poster ;-)

Hi Mike . . . it's a commentary used figuratively.

Carla,

I think Free Speech works both ways! As far as posting about non real estate things on Active Rain many post are not real estate related and many of them get great raves! I neither support the boycott or the anti-boycott just Free Speech!

Honestly this is all a bit much for me.  First, anyone with half a mind should have known that Chick-Fill-A does not support the Gay and Lesbian community...that should have been obvious...however, both sides to take it to this level is just comical and a bit sad.  I am quite sure there are more pressing topics we need to be concerned about...let's just take the economy for example.

I cannot believe how this has turned into war against the Liberal media and a leftist thought process thing.  People need to get over themselves.

For the record Carla, I agree with you.  Jesus is loving and accepting and that's how I choose to see HIM.

Carla... I had missed Mike's original post but probably wouldn't have read it anyway.  I'm with you and Brenda... I still believe that Jesus is all loving.  Any Christian who is so unforgiving of differences, no matter what they might be, is difficult for me to understand.

Carla:  The things we choose to get all worked-up about in this country now are amazing.  We blow things SO out of proportion.  Everything has to be reality TV-style.  People are entitled to their opinions.  But I don't need either side screaming them in my ear ... or shouting mine down.  Not sure what the protests on either side really accomplish.  Choose to support this business ... or not ... with your wallet.  They have the right to be in business.  They have the right to their own beliefs.  I have the right to choose to walk through their door and buy their product ... or not.

And I say ... Hear! Hear! on your take on Christ, Carla.  Keep writing your feelings and opinions.  There IS place for it here on AR, as long as done respectfully like yours ...

Free speech does go both ways; you are correct about that. While I do have a strong opinion on the issue, I am actually fiarly surprised that this topic has gotten so much play in the media. Personal rights and tolerance are important, but this just seems like high drama.
