National Night Out Parking Lot Party
Tuesday, Aug. 7; 5 - 9 pm
Wake Forest SuperTarget Parking Lot, 12000 Retail Dr.
On Tuesday, Aug. 7, neighborhoods throughout Wake Forest are invited to join the Wake Forest Police Department, Target, and thousands of communities across the United States for the 28th Annual National Night Out. The Wake Forest Police Department and Target, the national sponsor for NNO, are marking the occasion by hosting a “National Night Out Parking Lot Party” from 5 pm to 9 pm at the Wake Forest Target Superstore, 12000 Retail Drive. The Parking Lot Party promises something for everyone including food and special prizes, as well as fire, police, and EMS vehicle displays. Wake Forest Farmers’ Market
Wednesday, Aug. 8; 4 - 7 pm
OneCare Inc. parking lot, 150 N. White St.

Firing Range Training
Thursday – Friday, Aug. 9 – 10; 8 am – 5 pm
Police Department Firing Range, behind Flaherty Park Community Center
Residents in the area are advised that the Wake Forest Police Department will conduct firing range training at the police department firing range, located behind the Flaherty Park Community Center. The firing range is utilized by Wake Forest Police officers who require instruction and practice in order to obtain current certification in the use of firearms. Wakefield Rotary Club’s 2nd Annual Monthly Charity Golf Event
Thursday, Aug. 9; 2 pm
TPC Wakefield Plantation, 2201 Wakefield Plantation Dr., Raleigh
The Wakefield Rotary club of Wake Forest is hosting the 2nd annual monthly charity golf tour at TPC Wakefield Plantation April through October 2012 to raise money to go toward various local charities supported by the organization. The Wakefield Rotary Charity Golf Tour will consist of 18 holes of play in a Texas Scramble format beginning on Thursday, April 12.  The other monthly golf events will be on May 10, June 28, August 9, September 13 and October 11. No golf will be played in July. Tee times are at 2 p.m. with a shotgun start on the TPC Wakefield Plantation golf course. The entry fee for each golf event is $80 and registration must be completed online prior to the event. Go to www.wakefieldrotarync.org and click on Rotary Golf Tour to register and pay. Raffle tickets are also available and cost $10 for one or three for $20. Raffle prizes vary each month and will be awarded after each golf outing with snacks at 6:30 p.m. in the clubhouse to conclude the event.
