Who says answering the phone isn't profitable? I had the experience of answering my phone a couple of weeks ago (I also never let my phone go into voicemail unless I simple can't talk at that moment). I know some agents that NEVER return a call. Can anyone be that busy?

Anyway, the person on the other line was a potential buyer who had seen a property online and had contacted the listing agent. After several messages and no return call, he somehow located me online and asked if he could see the property. I told him it wasn't my listing, but I would take care of him. After not being able to reach the other agent, I called him back and scheduled a showing appointment for the following day.He lived right down the street and said he had been searching for vacant land for over a year, but with no success.
We placed an above asking price on the property, which was accepted the following day. I'm happy to say we closed on that property yesterday. It was a win-win for everyone.
Not only get I gain a commission, but I got the opportunity to meet a delightful couple that was a pleasure to work with.
Who says it doesn't pay to pick up the phone!
