Yes, it is back to school and the sales are all over the place.

Now along with needs by many families for food, many do not have the ability to supply the kids with even the basics.

Many food shelves are also working at this.  Donation are welcome at most and if you call your Chamber of Commerce they will also give you drop off spots for your area.

Another option is to adopt a family with kids in need and help them out.

the look of a young child will be like it is Christmas in the summer time.

I was on the board of directors for a non-profit which assisted and owned low-income housing.  I give their on-site manager money in September for her to provide back-to-school items for the residents children....she can really pack a lot off supplies for my buck!

Thanks for the great reminders, Bill.  We helped with backpacks earlier in the summer.   I hope that someone else can donate some of the other supplies kids need, too!

Having given just a few bags of groceries to one family made me feel like Santa.  Imagine filling one Just one backpack with all the supplies a child would need and handing it to a needy family or a teacher to give to some under-equipped child!

This is a need that goes a long way.  For a very young child having the same tools as better off friends can boost confidence.
